Englburg Castle

The Hofmark Englburg was a closed Hofmark with its seat in Englburg , today a district of the municipality of Tittling in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau .

history

In 1323 the Counts of Schwarzenstein received the Englburg as a fief of the Halser family.

In 1599 the Schwarzenstein family died out in the male line. Through the marriage of Marie Elisabeth von Schwarzenstein to the knight Burkhard von Taufkirchen, the castle came into the possession of the Counts of Taufkirchen, who resided at the Englburg until 1857.

The Hofmark Englburg included goods in Englburg, Allmunzen , Anschiessing , Edhof and many other places.
