The Hofteich is a pond in Harzgerode in the district of Stadt Güntersberge in Saxony-Anhalt .
The pond is located near the eastern entrance to Güntersberge, west of the Heimbergsiedlung street . The Siptenfelder Straße runs a little further south over which the Bundesstraße 242 is led. The Heimberg rises to the northeast . The small pond extends from northwest to southeast over about 70 meters with a width of up to about 40 meters. It is fed by the Röhrbach flowing in from the north , which also drains the pond to the south. The Röhrbach flows into the Selke after a few meters .
If necessary, the pond can also be used to extract extinguishing water .
