High house number

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

High house number or house number game is a simple dice game with a single dice and a dice cup for any number of players. Variants of the game are the low house number and the hidden house number . Another game with a similar aim, but with three dice, is the " house number " game.

In game collections , these games are regularly included in the relevant rulebooks.

Style of play

High house number is played with a single dice and dice cup.

The game is played in turn. Each player rolls the dice three times and has to decide immediately in which place of a three-digit house number he would like to place the value thrown. With this he defines the hundreds, tens and units of the number. After the three throws it is the next player's turn. The winner is the player with the highest house number. Strategically, it makes sense to place a 1 that was dropped at the beginning and a 6 in the first place; the decision is more difficult with medium numbers of rolls like 3 or 4.

In the Low House Number variant , the players try to achieve the lowest possible house numbers. In the case of the hidden house number , the player must blindly decide at which point of his house number the throw is placed. Only then may he lift the dice cup.
