Hohenheim single prey

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hohenheim single hive is a magazine system for beehives used in beekeeping . It has by Gerhard Liebig , the author of beekeepers Simple: Guide to keep bees and bee researcher Pia Aumeier ( Ruhr University Bochum ) found a special distribution in Germany.

properties

The hive consists of 20 mm thick solid wood, has no folds and has handle strips. It is designed for ten zander combs (220 × 420 mm) with long ears (28.5 mm) with a frame spacing of 35 mm. In its original form, it is designed for frames of the same size in the brood chamber and honey chamber, which is justified by the simple exchange of frames. In the meantime, however, there are also variants with lower frames for the honey room (flat frames with frame height 159 mm, half frames with frame height 110 mm) or higher frames for the brood chamber (high frame for 285 mm high frames).

In addition to the pikeperch frame, other frame dimensions such as Deutsch Normal (370 mm × 223 mm) are also available in this design.

Origin of name

The name Hohenheimer Einfachbeute refers to the place of development, the State Institute for Apiculture at the University of Hohenheim, and the attested property that this enables simple beekeeping . Due to the fact that the hive was designed for honeycomb frames in pikeperch format and heavily promoted by Gerhard Liebig , it is also sold in specialist shops under the names Liebig-Zander -eute or Zanderbeute according to Dr. Liebig led. Since there are now other frame sizes, the more general name Liebig Kompaktbeute and the naming of the frame size have become established in some parts of Germany . Compact hive because there are only ten frames per frame instead of the usual eleven.
