The conference and media center of the Hohenstein Institute

The Hohenstein Institute (also Hohenstein HTTI or Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute ) is an international research and service center. Over 500 employees work at the headquarters in Bönnigheim, Baden-Württemberg, mainly on the development, testing and certification of textile products. Laboratories, offices, storage and conference rooms are housed in the historic Hohenstein Renaissance Castle and six modern outbuildings. The Hohenstein Institute is represented by foreign offices in all regions of the world relevant to textile production.

In 1946 Otto Mecheels founded the Hohenstein Institute. The focus for him was the connection between research and practice. His son, Jürgen Mecheels , continued to run the Hohenstein Institute in this spirit and expanded it into an interdisciplinary research and service company. The third generation of the family business has been run by Stefan Mecheels since 1995 .
