Stefan Mecheels

Stefan Mecheels (born January 23, 1960 in Heilbronn ) is a scientist and director of the Hohenstein Institute, the international textile research center .

Career

Stefan Mecheels was born on January 23, 1960 in Heilbronn. He studied mechanical engineering and business administration at the universities in Stuttgart and Bamberg. He completed his doctorate in 1991 at the University of Bamberg on the subject of "Technology transfer in the field of tension between science and practical, organizational and marketing tasks using the example of industrial joint research".

After various industrial internships at home and abroad, he began working at the Hohenstein Institute in 1988, taking over its management from his father Jürgen Mecheels in 1995.

In 2009 he was appointed honorary professor by the Freiburg University of Education. Stefan Mecheels is a member of various national and international committees. In addition to his commitment to local politics and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, he is a commercial judge at the Heilbronn district court.
