Reinhard von Sayn

Reinhard von Sayn (* before 1378; † August 24, 1390 ) was bishop of Kulm from 1385 to 1390 .

Life

Reinhard came from the Count family Sayn . He was the eldest son of Count John III. von Sayn, who died in 1403. Reinhard is first recorded as a cleric in 1378 . After the resignation of the Kulm bishop Wikbold Dobilstein in 1385, Pope Urban VI appointed. Reinhard von Sayn as his successor. Although he came to Kulm in May 1385 , he was not consecrated as a bishop until October 21, 1389. During Reinhard's tenure, Grand Master Konrad Zöllner von Rotenstein intended to found a university in Kulm, but could not implement the plan. Bishop Reinhard may have died in Rome. It is not known where his body was buried.
