Martin of Lynow

Martin von Lynow († 1414 at the earliest) was Elekt von Kulm and a priest of the Teutonic Order .

Probably from Lynow near Rheden in the Kulmer Land , but possibly also from Lynow near Elbing, he was the son of Tycko. Since 1376 named as a public notary of the cathedral chapter of Kulm, he entered the Teutonic Order and was chaplain of Grand Master Konrad Zöllner von Rotenstein from 1383 to 1390 . Since 1386 also canon in Kulm, in June 1390 he worked with the Komtur von Thorn as a visitor. After the death of the Kulm bishop Reinhard von Sayn from the cathedral chapter with the consent of the Grand Master, he could not oppose the one of Pope Boniface IX. appointed Nikolaus von Schippenbeil . Between 1396 and 1414 he was the dean of the cathedral and wrote two gloss songs and an antiphon.
