Shiite Islamic High Council (Lebanon)

The Shiite Islamic High Council ( Arabic المجلس الإسلامي الشيعي الأعلى al-Majlis al-Islāmī al-Shīʻī al-Aʻla ) of Lebanon is the official representative body of the Shiites in Lebanon .

The Supreme Council of Shiite Clergymen was founded in 1969 by Founding President Seyyed Musa Sadr and Sheikh Mustafa Sulaiman (سليمان اليحفوفي) founded. Its headquarters are in Haret Hreik in the Lebanese capital Beirut .

Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Amir Kabalan (عبد الأمير قبلان) is the current chairman, he is the successor of Muhammad Mahdi Shams al-Din (محمد مهدي شمس الدين).

Its members include Hezbollah critic Sheikh Seyyed Hani Fahs .
