Hohner Conservatory

The Hohner Conservatory is the oldest training institute for accordion teachers. It was founded in 1931 as the Hohner Harmonica College. Today the Conservatory is a state substitute school for the training of accordion teachers. The Conservatory is run by the city of Trossingen , the district of Tuttlingen and the Matth. In a three-year full-time training or a six-year part-time training course, the students learn the basics of music education and music theory as well as musical and playing skills in the areas of accordion, harmonica, conducting / orchestral conducting, Styrian harmonica, keyboard and music editing and much more

An internationally renowned team of lecturers is available for this purpose. The training at the Hohner Conservatory is financially supported by the state of Baden-Württemberg and the state-certified qualification opens up a wide variety of paths into the professional world.

Independent of the training courses, there are workshops, lectures, musical events, certifying further training courses and online offers. Bernhard van Almsick is the director of the conservatory.
