The house Hoken 3 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .
location
It stands west of the Quedlinburg town hall, north of the town's market square. The western side of the eaves faces Marktstrasse , the eastern one faces Hoken Street . The building is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is listed in the Quedlinburg Monument Register as a residential building. House Hoken 2 , which is also a listed building, borders on the south and house Hoken 4 on the north .
Architecture and history
The three-storey half - timbered house consists of two building parts. The southern part is older and built in the Renaissance style. This part is covered by a steep roof. The northern part is more recent and dates from around 1740. On the western side of the facade, this part has a dwelling . In both parts of the building, the upper floors on the east side protrude significantly above the ground floor.
In addition to a band of inscriptions, there is also an arcade frieze and a rare console decoration.
