Holger Ehrhardt

Holger Ehrhardt (* 1964 in Sonneberg ) is a German German studies specialist and university professor. From 2012 to 2018 he held an endowed professorship for the work and impact of the Brothers Grimm at the University of Kassel , and since 2018 he has been an adjunct professor there for German studies with a teaching and research focus on the work and impact of the Brothers Grimm.

Life

Erhardt fled the GDR via Czechoslovakia to the Federal Republic in 1989 and initially worked as a building planner in Stuttgart. In 1995 he began studying German and English , which brought him to Kassel via the University of Leipzig and the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , where he obtained the academic degree Magister Artium in 2000 . From 2001 to 2006 he was research assistant for modern German literature at the University of Kassel. In 2006 he received his doctorate and switched to teaching German, English and IT at the Waldau Open Schoolin Kassel. From 2012 to 2018 he held an endowed professorship for “Work and Effects of the Brothers Grimm” as a junior professor at the University of Kassel . This was the first professorship for the life and work of the Brothers Grimm in Germany . Since 2012 he has published the “Brothers Grimm Commemoration” and is the academic director of the cultural module at the International Summer and Winter University of Kassel. In the same year he was one of the co-organizers of the international congress “Fairy Tales, Myths, Modernity - 200 Years of Children's and Household Tales by the Brothers Grimm”. From 2013 he was deputy, since 2015 provisional, since 2018 spokesman for the editorial board of the “Critical Edition of the Brothers Grimm's Correspondence”. In 2013 he gave guest lectures in Kawasaki and Zurich . Since 2014 he has been a member of the executive committee of the humanities and cultural studies doctoral college at Faculty 02 at the University of Kassel and supervised several international doctoral projects of the German Academic Exchange Service . In 2016 he organized the lecture series “Current Trends in Grimm Research”. In 2018 he was appointed adjunct professor for German studies with a teaching and research focus on the work and impact of the Brothers Grimm.
