Jacobsen's depiction of the stone child by Sens

Holger Jacobsen (born July 6, 1650 in Aarhus , † June 18, 1701 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish physician and scientist.

Jacobsen, who also used the Latinized form of the name Oligerus Jacobaeus or Oliger Jacobaeus for his publications, studied in Copenhagen and Florence and became professor of medicine and philosophy as well as history and geography at the University of Copenhagen. Jacobsen, who was Thomas Bartholin's son-in-law , cataloged the royal collection of curiosities; We owe him a drawing of the stone child of Sens , which documents the decay of this lithopedion . He wrote numerous articles for the Acta Hafniensia , including z. B. a work on the anatomy of parrots, but also dealt with curiosities such as the case of Barbara Urslerin , who suffered from hypertrichosis .

In 1699 he became a corresponding member of the Académie des sciences .
