Holger Welt (born June 12, 1958 in Bremerhaven ) is a Bremerhaven politician ( SPD ) and member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Family, education and work

Welt attended secondary school. This was followed by training with the Bremen police from 1974 to 1978, where he was accepted into the senior service.
Since 1978 he has been a clerk on duty at the local police authority in Bremerhaven, here in the North Lehe / Leherheide police section.

He is married, has two grown children and lives in Bremerhaven- Leherheide .

politics

From 1988 to 1998 Welt was the spokesman for a district conference in Bremerhaven, when it was founded. In 1998 he became a member of the SPD and has been chairman of the SPD local association Leherheide since 1999.
Since 2014 he has been a member of the board of the SPD sub-district Bremerhaven. In Bremerhaven, Welt is repeatedly committed to environmental issues in the city districts and in various social projects.

From 2011 to 2015 he was a member of the deputation for health care in the Bremen citizenship.
In 2015 he was elected as a member of the Bremen Parliament. In the citizenry he is a member of the Deputations for Home Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection as well as Justice and Law and, since 2019, also in the Committee for Science, Media, Data Protection and Freedom of Information and in the Legal Committee.
