Holiday Rap is a 1986 song by MC Miker G & Deejay Sven . It is a rap version of Holiday written by Brian Bennett , Bruce Welch , Curtis L. Hudson and Lisa Stevens for Madonna .

Emergence

Lucien Witteveen and Sven van Veen met in a discotheque in Hilversum . Since both were interested in rap , they decided to record a popular pop song as a rap version. According to their own information, the idea of using Holiday by Madonna came to them because the song was playing in the discotheque. Following the example of Grandmaster Flash , they rearranged the song and added rhymes characteristic of rap. The song is enriched by samples with the alienated voices of the musicians. In addition, from the original, it adapted the line " Holiday, Celebrate ... " as well as parts of the text of Cliff Richard -Klassikers Summer Holiday of 1963. For the publication, Witteveen put the pseudonym MC Miker G and Van Veen the pseudonym DJ Sven to . Holiday Rap was released on July 11, 1986 and was a number one hit in Germany , Switzerland , the Netherlands and France . It reached number 9 in Canada in 1987.
