Holiday World is a theme park near Santa Claus in the USA .
history
1946 Louis J. Koch founded an amusement park with the theme of Christmas and named it after the place name (the English name for Santa Claus ) "Santa Claus Land". The expansion of the theme areas " Halloween " and " July 4th " (national holiday in the USA) made in 1984 also resulted in a change of the name to "Holiday World" in order to better reflect the basic theme of the park (the holidays in the USA) to represent. The next expansion in 1993 was the “Splashin 'Safari” water park included in the entry price. The fourth and so far last subject area opened in 2006 with “ Thanksgiving ”.
Attractions
The main attraction is the almost two-kilometer-long hybrid roller coaster (wooden roller coaster with steel supports) The Voyage in the Thanksgiving area of the park, which won the fan award "Wood Coaster Poll" (2006 and 2007) and a "Golden Ticket Award" (2006 ) won. With The Raven and The Legend , the park has two more wooden roller coasters on offer. There is also a steel roller coaster called Thunderbird .
The water park also features “Zoombabwe”, the highest closed water slide in the world according to the park information.

In 2004/2005, Holiday World was awarded the International Applause Award as the park with the lowest number of visitors . In addition, the park received a number of “Golden Ticket Awards” from “Amusement Today” magazine, including ten years in a row for the category “Friendliest Park” (German: (customer) friendliest park) and eight years in a row for the cleanest Park. There were also various awards and high placements in the best lists for the three wooden roller coasters and water attractions in the park.
