Holler (Weiswampach)
Holler is a district of the municipality Weiswampach , Luxembourg .
The place with 83 inhabitants is located about two kilometers from the municipality capital in Ösling in the northernmost part of the Grand Duchy . Visible from afar, it is dominated by the small Romanesque-Gothic church from the 12th century. It is considered one of the most beautiful churches in the Luxembourg Ardennes .
Holler was first mentioned as Hunlar in 863 as a branch of the Prüm Abbey . Just like the Prüm Abbey, the church in Holler is consecrated to Christ-Salvator (Christ the Redeemer). The first parish priest is St. Thomas .
The place has an active theater club and a volunteer fire brigade with youth fire brigade . The fire brigade has maintained a partnership with the volunteer fire brigade from Binsfeld near Nörvenich in Germany since 1987 .
The place is characterized by agriculture. Mainly potatoes are grown, which are exported as seed potatoes to Africa . There is no business other than a concrete plant.
