The Hollywood Casino Amphitheater (formerly: Riverport Amphitheater , UMB Bank Pavilion, and Verizon Wireless Amphitheater ) is an amphitheater in Maryland Heights , Missouri , and seats 20,000 (7,000 seats; 13,000 standing).

history

The open-air arena was built for around 12 million US dollars and opened on June 14, 1991 with a concert by Steve Winwood . The property has been owned by Live Nation Entertainment since 1998 . The band Guns N 'Roses took during their Use Your Illusion Tour July 2, 1991 here. The concert, also known as the Riverport Riot , was ended prematurely and riots broke out. British rock musician Eric Clapton performed here on August 25, 1992 as part of his 1992 Eric Clapton World Tour .
