Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel
The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is a luxury hotel opened in 1927 at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood .
The "Spanish style" hotel, which was popular at the time, was named after the former US President Theodore Roosevelt and was financed by a group of investors that included Douglas Fairbanks , Mary Pickford and Louis B. Mayer . The opening of the 300-room hotel took place on May 15, 1927. The first Oscar ceremony was held here in the Blossom Ballroom in 1929 in front of around 280 guests .
The building was renovated in 2005 and is now once again a nightlife attraction in Los Angeles.
