The Holmes Block is a block-like and 1855 m high cliff in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 3 km west of Cooke Bluff on the west side of Ruecroft Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the cliff in 1994 after John W. Holmes, a cartographer in the United States Geological Survey's specialty mapping division from 1951 to 1977.
