Course of the Vennbahn

The border between Germany and Belgium is 204 kilometers long.

The Vennbahn is a specialty . Due to the route of the now dismantled railway, Mützenich, along with other districts of Monschaus and Roetgens, is an exclave in Germany that is completely enclosed by Belgium. The Vennbahntrasse, like some forest areas that previously belonged to Mützenich, has been Belgian territory since 1920 under the provisions of the Versailles Treaty . The boundary stones can be found on the right and left of the Vennbahntrasse.
