The Hohenfichte wooden bridge is a listed building in Hohenfichte (municipality of Leubsdorf , district of central Saxony ).

The roofed, 55.5 meter long and 4.6 meter wide wooden bridge spans the Flöha , about five meters above normal level , which is 46 meters wide at this point. The approved vehicle height is three meters, the roadway is 2.6 meters wide. The maximum load capacity is given as nine tons. The bridge connects Hohenfichte on the left with Metzdorf on the right side of the Flöha.

A roofed wooden structure consisting of a double hanging structure rests above the bridge . The apex height of the shingle roof is 7.5 meters. The road surface consists of two layers of spruce planks, which were laid offset by 15 ° against each other. In the bridge there is a board with historical and technical data.

A first wooden bridge was built at this point in 1602. It had to be rebuilt in 1680 and 1714 after being damaged by ice . After it was rebuilt in 1732, the bridge fell victim to a fire during the Wars of Liberation in 1813. The bridge, newly built in 1832, still exists today. When crossing the bridge, escort money had to be paid, for which a bridge toll house was built in 1786.

The bridge suffered damage in natural events such as a windpipe in 1954 or the flood disaster in 2002 , which could be repaired. Most recently, the wooden shingle roof was re-covered in 2007 and the roadway including both sidewalks was renewed.

The construction of the wooden bridge is comparable to the Hennersdorf wooden bridge .
