Christian von Faber-Castell

Christian Albrecht Bernhard Konstantin von Faber-Castell (born May 17, 1950 in Konstanz ) is a Swiss journalist, photographer and author.

Life

Christian von Faber-Castell is the son of Roland Graf von Faber-Castell and his wife, Nina Countess von Faber-Castell, née von Sprecher-Bernegg . His brother was the German entrepreneur Anton Wolfgang Graf von Faber-Castell . After attending primary school in Küsnacht and the classical grammar school at Lyceum Alpinum in Zuoz , he passed the federal Matura in St. Gallen in 1969 . He studied mathematics and physics at the ETH Zurich up to the second intermediate diploma . He moved to the University of Zurich , where he continued his studies in chemistry. From 1987 to 2002 he served in the sea rescue service of the Lake Zurich community of Küsnacht / ZH

As a journalist and correspondent, he deals with the Swiss and the international art market . Since 1975 he has been writing a weekly page about events on the Swiss and international art market for the newspaper Finanz und Wirtschaft . In addition, he reports on the Swiss art market as an art market correspondent for the Handelsblatt and the art trade magazine Weltkunst, as well as for the ArtNewsletter, which appears in New York. He also writes on current science and technology topics.

He has been married to the teacher and journalist Barbla Mani (* 1951) since 1985. He and his wife have had a daughter since 1991. He lives in Küsnacht near Zurich.
