Roland Graf von Faber-Castell

Roland Graf von Faber-Castell (born April 21, 1905 in Schwarzenbruck , † February 2, 1978 in Ansbach ) was a German aristocrat and industrialist .

Life

Roland von Faber-Castell was born as the son of Ottilie Freiin von Faber (1877–1944) and Alexander Graf zu Castell-Rüdenhausen (1866–1928). He studied agriculture at the Hohenheim Agricultural University , where he became a member of the Corps Suevia in 1926 and of the Corps Germania in 1930 . After completing his studies, he was the owner of entails at Stein Castle near Nuremberg and was the last sole owner of the Faber-Castell company in Stein near Nuremberg . He was also a member of several supervisory boards and was a multiple honorary citizen .

The count was married three times. A total of 8 children resulted from 2 of these marriages. The Chinese honorary citizen Hubertus Graf von Faber-Castell comes from his first marriage with Alix-May von Frankenberg and Ludwigsdorf , from the owner family of the Cologne bank Sal. Oppenheim jr & Cie . Two more of his five sons were Anton-Wolfgang Graf von Faber-Castell and Christian von Faber-Castell from his second marriage to Katharina Sprecher von Bernegg (1917-1994), who came from an old Swiss noble family. The illegitimate children of Roland and Nina during the marriage were called Faber-Castell and grew up with their mother. Her father was the Swiss billionaire Paul Sacher .
