Wood submission

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A wood submission is a forestry sales process in which, in particular, valuable raw wood ( valuable wood ) is sold to the highest bidder. This is not done in the form of a public auction ( auction ), but in the form of written offers. Goods sold through such a sales process are referred to as submitted wood .

Process of a submission

In Germany, submissions are z. B. by larger private forest enterprises, by some forest offices and - often across forest offices - by the state forest administrations.

In the run-up to a submission date (highest bid date ), a list of lots is usually sent or published to a group of potential customers (especially wood dealers, sawmills ). In the lot directory, the individual trunks to be sold and / or certain amounts of wood, mostly sorted by tree species, quality and dimensions, are listed and described. Interested parties can view the wood on offer at a central storage location (submission location) or at several decentralized locations ( bunkers , lumber yards ), for which a period of several weeks is usually estimated. You can then submit bids for specific lots in a sealed envelope to the submission organizer or a sales representative. The asking prices are usually given in euros per cubic meter . On the day of the submission, the letters are then opened and read in the presence of the bidders or in public (in the presence of interested citizens). After evaluating the bids, the highest bidder is awarded a lot.

Following a submission, at least government agencies regularly publish statistically prepared submission results. a. serve to determine market prices .
