Hommée
Hommée was a French square measure. It was only used in a few places in France . It determined the size of arable land, meadows and vineyards. The basis was the performance of a person in one day, i.e. a daily work measure.
In detail:
- Arable land 1 Hommée = workable area with hook plow per day and person
- Wiesenland 1 Hommée = workable area by mowing per day and person
- Wine-growing land 1 Hommée = workable area with the hoe per day and person
For example, in the provinces of Berry and Lyonnais were
- 8 hommées = 1 Parisian arpent / morning = 3418 4/5 square meters
- 1 Hommée = almost 430 square meters
