Hommée

Hommée was a French square measure. It was only used in a few places in France . It determined the size of arable land, meadows and vineyards. The basis was the performance of a person in one day, i.e. a daily work measure.

  • Arable land 1 Hommée = workable area with hook plow per day and person
  • Wiesenland 1 Hommée = workable area by mowing per day and person
  • Wine-growing land 1 Hommée = workable area with the hoe per day and person
