Honor was a Polish RAC - band from Gliwice . It existed from 1989 until it was dissolved in 2009.

history

Honor was founded in August 1989, making it the first Polish right-wing rock band alongside Szczerbiec and Polska , both of which were founded a year earlier. Their first concert followed in September, when the band performed seven pieces in front of a smaller audience. In 1990 the demo recording Biały Front ('White Front') was released, and the band gave a few more concerts. After a few line-up changes, the line-up remained stable. In 1995 the album Droga bez odwrotu ('Path without Return') was released on the very successful Polish label Fan Records and in 1998 Ogień Ostatniej Bitwy ('Flame of the Last Battle'). However, the label had to file for bankruptcy shortly thereafter. This was a bitter loss for the Polish scene, as the gap has not yet been filled. As a consequence, Honor had to switch to foreign distributors. In 1997 Olaf recorded the album Ziemia Wiecznych Prawd in agreement with Adam Bartnikiewicz from Konkwista 88 .

In 2000, the split release Raiders of Revenge appeared with the Polish NSBM band Graveland on Resistance Records ; both bands tried to bring their respective subcultures closer together . After initial disinterest in a contract, the album In Flames of the Rising Power was later released there . Honor also released a mini album with two well-known songs, Sanhedryn and Na Szubienice , which can also be found on the Day of the Rope compilation .

From 1998 the band began translating their songs into English. As a result, the two compilations To Survive for Victory 1989-1999 Vol.1 appeared , which were released in 1999 via Streetfight Records. In January 2002, singer Mariusz Szczerski was arrested for disseminating neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic content.

On August 3, 2005, Mariusz Szczerski died in a car accident. After his death, the band took a break. A year later another album was published that contains live recordings of an unplugged concert that took place in Jena in 2004. Olaf Jasiński continued the band until 2009, but then announced the breakup. However, the band's activities were limited to the release of old albums and songs.

meaning

Besides Konkwista 88 , it is the most famous right-wing rock band from Poland. It is internationally known and can also be found on a list of the US organization Anti-Defamation League . Together with Konkwista 88 and other bands, Honor formed the organization Aryjski Front Przetrwania ('Aryan Survival Front ') from 1992 to 1994 , which was based on the model of Blood and Honor and brought international right-wing rock concerts to Poland, including a concert with No Remorse .
