Hood is a band from Leeds , England . It was founded in 1991 by the two brothers Chris and Richard Adams. Occasionally, the siblings called in friends and acquaintances from their environment for the musical work of Hood.

history

The band's first releases were EPs in vinyl format that were sold on smaller English independent labels. In 1994 the first studio album Cabled Linear Traction was released on the Fluff and Slumberland Records labels . The following album Silent '88 was also released in 1996 by Slumberland Records .

In 1997 Hood signed a record deal with Domino Records , whereupon the single Useless was released on the same label . During the production of the single, the band received support from English folk musician Matt Elliott , who later also took part in the production of the albums Rustic Houses, Forlorn Valleys and The Cycle Of Days And Seasons . In collaboration with rappers Doseone and Yoni Wolf from Why? The album Cold House was created in 2001 , which, in addition to the leading electronic elements, was particularly characterized by an even stronger focus on melancholy mood. In 2003, Singles Compiled and Compilations were published 1995-2002 , which summarized all of Hood's published singles and contributions to compilations since the publication of their previous compilation Structured Disasters from 1997. There were also some previously unreleased tracks.

In 2005 Hood released the album Outside Closer . The tracks 'The Lost You' and 'The Negatives' were released as singles.

Chris Adams has been working on his solo project Bracken since 2006 , Richard founded his own solo project The Declining Winter in 2007 .
