Hoop (unit)

With hoop , or mill heads , a small measure of grain in was Kingdom of Hanover called. It was a sixteenth (1/16) at the end of the sharing of a load of grain.

While the vessel of the raspberry should be the same in diameter and height, that of the mill head was twice the height of the diameter. The ridge was 14.01  inches in diameter and height. Both volumetric measures in cylindrical form were always calculated with a match .

  • 1 hoop / mill head = 1.947 liters
  • 1 Himten = 4 Metzen = 16 mill heads

A load had 16  painter with 6  Himten each with 4  Metzen with 4 sixteenths each or hoop / mill head:
