Hope Island is an island off the northeastern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 6 miles west of Turnbull Point on D'Urville Island .

The name of the island is first recorded on a map published in 1822 by the British sealer captain George Powell . The polar explorer Jules Dumont d'Urville mapped them on the Third French Antarctic Expedition (1837-1840) and named them as Île Daussy after Pierre Daussy (1792-1860), president of the Société de Géographie .
