Hai să dăm mână cu mână
Cei cu inima româna,
Sa-nvârtim hora frăției
Pe pământul României!
Let’s hold hands, those
with the Romanian heart,
Let’s spin in the hora of brotherhood
on the Romanian earth!
Iarba rea din holde piară!
Piară dușmănia-n țară!
Între noi să nu mai fie
Decât flori și omenie!
May the bad grass pass away in the field!
May the enmity in the land pass!
There is nothing more among us than
flowers and humanity!
Măi muntene, măi vecine
Vino să te prinzi cu mine
Și la viață cu unire
Și la moarte cu-nfrățire!
Muntene , neighbor,
come, take me,
To life in unity
And to death in brotherhood!
Unde-i unul nu-i putere
La nevoi și la durere
Unde-s doi puterea crește
Și dușmanul nu sporește!
Where there is one, there is no power
In distress and pain.
Where there are two, the power grows
And the enemy does not rise!
Amândoi suntem de-o mamă
De-o făptură și de-o seamă,
Ca doi brazi într-o tulpină
Ca doi ochi într-o lumină.
We are both of one mother,
of one sex and of the same age,
Like two fir trees on one trunk,
Like two eyes in one light.
Amândoi avem un nume,
Amândoi o soartă-n lume.
Eu ți-s frate, tu mi-ești frate,
În noi doi un suflet bate!
We both have a name,
Both a destiny in the world.
I am brother to you, you are brother to me,
a soul blows in us two!
Vin 'la Milcov cu grăbire
Să-l secăm dintr-o sorbire,
Ca să treacă drumul mare
Peste-a noastre vechi hotare,
Come to the Milcov
in a hurry To dry him out in one go,
So that the great road may lead
across our old borders,
Și să vadă sfântul soare
Într-o zi de sărbătoare
Hora noastră cea frățească
Pe câmpia românească!
And see the holy sun
On a feast day
Our Hora of brotherhood
In the Romanian field!
