Horcas is an Argentine thrash metal band from Buenos Aires that was formed in 1986.

history

The band was founded in 1986 by guitarist Osvaldo Civile, who previously worked for the band V8 . A short time later, bassist Marcelo Dogo, singer Hugo Benítez and drummer Gabriel Ganzo completed the line-up. The line-up of the band changed several times in the following years. So bassist Eddie Walker left the band to join the group Lethal . In return, Claudio "Yankee" Ortiz, guitarist from Lethal, joined the band. However, this left the band a short time later. In 1990 the band released their debut album Reinará la Tempestad . In 1992 the second album Oid Mortales el Grito Sangrado followed .

In 1995 singer Christian Bertoncelli, previously singer with Imperio and Renacer , joined the band. From 1997 he was replaced by singer Walter Meza, who previously worked for Jeriko , Decay and Samurai , among others . The band then appeared on the cover of Epopeya magazine . For the cover picture, Oscar Civile chose a motif in which he was playing cards with the Grim Reaper at a table.

In 1999, founding member Civile committed suicide. The band decided against a breakup, replaced Civile with another guitarist and released the album Eternos towards the end of the same year. In 2002 the next, self-titled album was released.

In 2003, Vive! their first live album, which was followed in 2004 by the next studio album called Demencial . Two more albums called Asesino and Reviviendo Huestes followed in 2006 and 2008. Another live album called La Maldición Continúa was released in 2010.
