Horia Demian Sports Hall

Horia Demian (* 1942 ; † 1989 ) was a Romanian basketball player who played for U Cluj (Știința Cluj between 1951 and 1965, now CS Universitatea Cluj-Napoca ) from 1960 to 1970 .

Career

Demian played 165 times for the Romanian national basketball team and in 1964 he received the Maestru al Sportului award from the Romanian Basketball Association for his achievements . He participated in 4 European basketball championships between 1961 and 1967 . His best placement was a 5th place when he last participated .

The Horia Demian sports hall in Cluj-Napoca was named after him as a memory and honor . The home games of the CS Universitatea Cluj-Napoca handball and basketball teams take place in the hall.
