The 15th European Basketball Championships the men ( officially: Euro Basket 1967 ) was held from 28 September to 8 October 1967 in Finland instead. The Soviet team won the European championship title for the sixth time in a row, the Czechoslovakia national team won silver and the Polish representation won bronze .
Venues
The game was played in Helsinki and Tampere .
Preliminary round
The preliminary round was held in two groups of eight teams each. The winner of a game received two points, the loser one point. If a game was tied at the end of regular time, there was extra time. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison decided against each other.
The two first and second place winners in each group were set for the semifinals and were already fourth in the European Championship, the two third and fourth placed qualified for the small semifinals and played for EM place 5. The fifth and sixth place qualified for the participation in the European Championship rank 9, while the two seventh and eighth placed places in each group had to play the European Championship places 13 to 16 among themselves.
