The 13th European Basketball Championships the men ( officially: Euro Basket 1963 ) was held from 4 to 13 October 1963 in the Polish city Wroclaw instead. The European champion was the subscription winner from the Soviet Union , who relegated the host Polish selection to silver in the final . The bronze medal went to Yugoslavia . The GDR took sixth place.
Qualification matches for this tournament are documented for the first time. From this tournament onwards, it will be a final tournament for the first time. The number of 16 participants was also retained in the following finals.
