The 2007 European Basketball Championship for women (officially: Eurobasket Women 2007) took place from September 24th to October 7th, 2007 in Italy .
The European Basketball Championship is a biennial basketball competition between European teams and is organized by FIBA Europe, the basketball association in Europe.

In the preliminary round four teams play against each other in four groups. The winner of a game receives two points, the loser one point. If a game is tied at the end of regular time, there is extra time.

The three teams in groups A and B form group E, the qualified teams in groups C and D form the new group F. Each team competes once against each of the three teams from the other preliminary group. The points from the preliminary round games are continued.

Final rounds
mode
After the intermediate round, the first four teams of both groups E and F qualify for the final round. In the quarter-finals, the game is played crosswise against an opponent from the other intermediate round group. Then both the winners of the quarter-finals meet in the semifinals, as well as the losers in the "small semifinals". The winners of the semi-finals play the final, the losers the game for 3rd place. The winners of the "small semifinals" play for 5th place, the losers for 7th place.
