Alexandra Shaw , née Müller , (born August 23, 1983 in Oettingen in Bavaria ) is a former German national basketball player .

Basketball career

In 1992 she started her basketball career at TSV Nördlingen . With this she became German U20 runner-up in 2000. After graduating from high school in 2003, she moved to Chicago , where she studied business administration at Northwestern University and went basketball in college basketball. In 2004 she moved to BSG Ludwigsburg in the first women's basketball league .

After Ludwigsburg's relegation, the 1.76 m tall athlete moved to TSV 1880 Wasserburg for the 2006/2007 season , where she and her team celebrated the double , i.e. winning the German Cup and the German Championship . In the 2007/2008 season she was able to secure the German championship title again with her club. For the 2008/2009 season, Shaw moved back to the second division champion and promoted TSV Nördlingen, which competes in the 1st Bundesliga as the newly founded club BG Donau-Ries . In 2009 she signed the first division team Wildcats Wolfenbüttel. In 2010 she moved to the 2nd DBBL South to become the runner-up in the 2009/2010 season for TSV Amicitia Viernheim , where she played until 2013.

National team

The former athlete's basketball talent was recognized at a young age. Accordingly, she went through all youth national teams.

She made her debut in the senior national team with a 73:64 win on November 18, 2001 in the friendly against hosts Belgium in Namur. Three days later they denied their Nördlinger (57:85 loss to Spain, home Hall their second international match European Championship - Qualification ).

Alexandra Shaw completed a total of 95 full international matches.

Life

Alexandra Shaw is married to former professional basketball professional and basketball coach Ty Shaw . She works for a player agency.
