The 1962 European Basketball Championship for women (officially: EuroBasket 1962 Women ) was the eighth edition of the continental competition. It took place in France from September 22 to 29, 1962 and was organized by FIBA Europa . The games were played in Mulhouse .

Preliminary round

It was played in two groups. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison counts, followed by the basket difference, followed by the baskets achieved. The top two in each group made it to the semi-finals and fought for medals. The remaining teams determined in the placement games, depending on their rank in the group, crossed places 5 to 10.
