Hormone yoga

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hormone yoga is a method in which the endocrine female hormone system is to be positively influenced with the help of yoga . It was developed in the 1990s by the Brazilian Dinah Rodrigues and has so far mainly been used in Brazil and in German-speaking countries. This is an alternative medical therapeutic procedure, which does not correspond to the generally recognized knowledge of medicine and pathophysiology.

The exercises are gender specific; so far only the exercises intended for women have found wider use. Rodrigues states that after several months of daily practice, significant improvements in menopausal symptoms and premenstrual syndrome (PMS) are regularly observed. She documents alleged successes through case reports in her book "Hormon-Yoga". There are no independent medical studies on effectiveness.

Most of the exercises come from Kundalini Yoga and Tao Yoga, which was developed by Mantak Chia .
