The Horn Reef ( Norwegian Hornrevet ) is a sea-washed rocky reef in the South Atlantic . It extends 500 m southwest of Larsøya in front of the southwest foothills of Bouvet Island .
The Norwegian captain Harald Horntvedt (1879-1946) charted and named the reef in December 1927 during the research voyage with the Norvegia .
