Horndøla Bridge
The Horndøla Bridge is a bridge in the Norwegian municipality of Volda in the province of Møre og Romsdal .
The stone bridge is located in the northern part of Hornindal and runs parallel to Fylkesvei 60 west of this over the Kvitla . At the northeast end of the bridge is the marriage and virgin stone .
The 52-meter-long bridge was built between 1810 and 1813 on the site of a previous building made of wood and stone. In 1937 a five-meter-wide concrete slab was added as part of a renovation . In 1971 Statens vegvesen then built a new bridge southeast of the bridge, over which Fylkesvei 60 is now passed. In 1993/94 the old bridge was restored.
The Horndøla Bridge is a sight and is often a stopover for tourist bus trips, which are carried out in connection with cruises in the fjords to the north . There are parking spaces at both ends of the bridge and a campground to the south.
