Horst Becker (politician, 1958)

Horst Becker (born April 7, 1958 in Stade ) is a German politician on the Green Alternative List (GAL).

Life

After graduating from high school in Hamburg in 1977, Horst Becker did civil service from 1977 to 1979. He then studied at the University of Hamburg with a degree in psychology and then worked as an independent property manager. He also worked as a freelance psychotherapist from 1986 to 1996. He is married and has three children.

Becker has been active in the GAL since 1986 and first sat for his party in the Hamburg-Stellingen local committee and from 1991 in the Eimsbüttel district assembly . There he became chairman of the green district parliamentary group in 2004.

From 2008 to 2011 he represented the constituency of Stellingen-Eimsbüttel-West in the Hamburg citizenship as a constituency member . There he was a specialist in the areas of urban development, sport and districts. He also sat for his parliamentary group on the sports committee, urban development committee and the constitutional and district committee. On the pages of the GAL-Hamburg he wrote about speculations that predicted a coalition with the CDU before the 2008 state election: “I am a strict opponent of a black-green coalition and my party expressly declared this as a direct candidate for constituency 6 nominated. "
