Horst Bretthauer

Horst Bretthauer (* 1907 or 1908 ; † October 6, 1994 ) was a German handball player and lawyer .

Bretthauer, who holds a doctorate in law, began his sporting career in the soccer department of the Siegen Sportfreunde, where he played in the first youth team. He later switched to the handball department and was part of the nationally successful field handball department of Sportfreunde Siegen in the late 1920s . As a member of this team, he took part in the final of the German championship against the police SV Berlin in Hagen in 1930 , which the sports fans only lost after two extra times. Bretthauer died at the age of 86.
