Horst Elberfeld (born September 18, 1974 ) is a German soccer player .

Career

With VfB Oldenburg , in whose youth department he had already played, Horst Elberfeld rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1996 . What followed was direct relegation, but Elberfeld was by far the best goalscorer of his team with ten goals. In the following season, the promotion back to the second division did not succeed - but Elberfeld was again the most successful scorer in the internal goalscorer list, this time with 14 goals. After the season he moved back to the second division for FC Gütersloh . Again the best goal-getter of his team, things did not go as desired for the entire team and so at the end of the season they were on a relegation zone, so that Elberfeld left the team after one season and signed a contract with the regional league club BV Cloppenburg .

Here he even scored 24 goals, with one goal behind Daniel Bärwolf and Marinus Bester , scoring the third most of that regional league season. In the course of the restructuring of the regional leagues, a sixth place would have been necessary to prevent relegation to fourth division. Cloppenburg narrowly missed this with a seventh place in the table at the end of the season, even if the club was not once on a non-relegation place in the entire season. So Elberfeld said goodbye and there was a change back to the 2nd Bundesliga to Greuther Fürth. With the Franconians, especially in the second season, he could not fight for a regular place, so he moved back to BV Cloppenburg in 2002.

In 2006 - after four years in the league and many goals for Cloppenburg - Horst Elberfeld decided to take it easy and concentrate on his training as a physiotherapist. He therefore moved to the district league club SV Bethen for the 2006/07 season. In 2008 he went to his hometown club SV Thüle to work as a player-coach.
