Horst Embacher

Horst Embacher (born December 17, 1917 in Rosenberg in West Prussia ; † November 28, 2007 in Norderstedt ) was a German local politician of the SPD and from 1970 to 1982 first mayor of the city of Norderstedt in Schleswig-Holstein .

Life

Horst Embacher, who studied law, took over the mayor's office in Garstedt in 1959 , at that time in the Pinneberg district . After the merger of Garstedt, Glashütte, Harksheide and Friedrichsgabe in 1970, he became mayor of the new city of Norderstedt . In 1970 the twinning between the French town of Maromme in Normandy and Norderstedt was signed. In 1966, Embacher became an honorary citizen of Maromme.
