Horst Kammrad

Horst Kammrad (born March 21, 1927 in Berlin ; † 2005 ) was a German worker and writer .

Life

Kammrad, the son of a blacksmith and a farm worker, grew up with his four siblings in an arbor colony . During the Second World War he was disabled. He then worked as a car mechanic and became chairman of the works council of the Berlin textile mill in Zehlendorf. Before his early retirement, he most recently worked as social secretary for the Evangelical Church . He had two children.

In the film cycle literature of the world of work cogwheel since 1970 speaker of the workshop was West Berlin. Most of his prose texts describe life in his homeland, the former Berlin district of Zehlendorf and its district of Düppel . The Zehlendorf local history museum keeps its local history collection.
