Horst Schad (born February 5, 1930 ; † September 29, 2017 in Stuttgart ) was a German football and tennis player .

Career

Schad began playing soccer with the Stuttgarter Kickers in his youth , where he also made the leap into the first team, for which he played 67 times in seven seasons in the Oberliga Süd between 1948 and 1955 and scored 24 goals. After studying architecture , he ended his career as a footballer in 1955.

In 1967, Schad returned to the Kickers, but as a coach and trained the amateurs of the club until 1969.

Horst Schad is the son of the groundskeeper of the Stuttgarter Kickers at the time. In addition to football, Schad also played tennis and was one of the Württemberg champions.
