Horst Wenzel (born March 2, 1944 ) is a former German football player .
Career
Wenzel played with VfB Lübeck in the Regionalliga Nord, after three years Wenzel moved to Arminia Bielefeld in the Regionalliga West. In his first season with Arminia, he was promoted to the Bundesliga . In the next two years he played 40 games in the Bundesliga and then moved to FSV Frankfurt , for whom he scored nine goals in 30 regional league games in the 1973/74 season. After Wenzel had left the Bornheimer Hang club , he let his career end with the Hessian league club SpVgg Bad Homburg and his home club VfB Lübeck.
Horst is the son of the former Gau and Oberliga player Karl Wenzel and the brother of the former Bundesliga player Rüdiger Wenzel .
