The širvintos district municipality (lit. Širvintų rajono savivaldybė ) is a small Rajongemeinde in eastern Lithuania in Vilnius district . The name of the city is derived from the river Širvinta that flows through Širvintos. In 2001 there were 20,207 inhabitants.
