Ignalina Rajong Municipality ( Ignalinos rajono savivaldybė ) is a Rajong municipality in northeast Lithuania , about 90 km northeast of Vilnius . It is a twin town of Büren in North Rhine-Westphalia . The decommissioned Ignalina nuclear power plant is located around 45 kilometers away in the city of Visaginas in the far northeast of the Ignalina district. The Rajongemeinde comprises the towns of Ignalina and Dūkštas (930 inhabitants), the towns ( miesteliai ) Mielagėnai, Rimšė and Tverečius and 726 villages.
